Paul G asked: I have a question about a Tax fraud which a friend of mine (he is America) is into and what would be its consequences is someone is caught doing the same thing. Now here is the deal:
He is showing IRS that he is adopting a kid, who is a illigal Hispanic guy (22 year old from Honduras). First he cannot adopt anyone above the age of 14. Second he is illigal and third, he is showing him as a dependant and getting additional tax returns showing that he is paying for his college tuition, which by the way is paid in cash by his uncle who is also an illegal from Honduras. (He has close to 27 illigals from Honduras)
Now this guy is bragging that he is making an easy money for the last 3 years, so 2 more of his friends, one from his work and the other is one of his distant relative has started doing the same thing to make some easy money by fooling IRS. All this started in 2004 and it’s working out great for these people, then why shouldn’t we do the same and make some money, especially when IRS is acting so dumb and foolish.
Also he has supposedly charges $5000 to add this illegal into the legal system, as a dependant, so tomorrow he can claim citizenship.
I wanted to know what will be the consequences if somebody is caught doing this?
